William DeVaughn - Be Thankful For What You Got
In 1972, William DeVaughn paid $900 to record “Be Thankful For What You Got” at the Omega Studios in Philadelphia. The owner of Omega, Frank Fioravanti, was impressed, and secured its release on the Roxybury Records in the spring of 1974. The possitive soul jam was a massive hit, selling over two million copies and even becoming a staple on gospel stations.
